Re: “South Burlington School Budget Voted Down for Second Time

Hmmmm ...I'll wager Ethan Allen, George Washington and all those other "rebels" who drove out the British tyrants would be surprised to learn they were racists. I'll also wager that the thousands of green mountain boys and girls who laid down their lives to defeat the confederate "rebels" and emancipate the former slaves would be surprised to learn they also were "racists." Why would the supposedly adult school officials for one moment take seriously the absurd claims that the "rebel" nickname has anything to do with some subliminal racist motivation? Morons.

Re: “Scott Struggles to Articulate Immigrant Deportation Stance

Sounds like Scott's response did not satisfy the reporters even though it was perfectly clear and consistent with immigration policy for Presidents Bush, Obama , and now Trump. To be specific: a DWI conviction for an illegal immigrant (misdemeanor or felony) means automatic deportation because DUI is categorized as a dangerous public threat. Period. There is no equivocation for the law or the enforcement of the law. I cannot imagine too many rational adults wish to see illegals with DUI convictions hitting the road. We have more than enough native-born DUI drivers killing and maiming folks. We certainly don't need to import any more.

Re: “Anchor Eva McKend Breaks New Ground on WCAX

Love the way she looks! Sassy! Appreciate black women who sport beautifully coiffed afros and shorter hair styles. Trying to mimic straight hair styles is painful to see. Just sayin'. . .

Re: “Migrant Justice Cases Spark Protest at Boston Immigration Court

Finally! Finally! Seven Days has AT LAST provided some facts about the DUI charges in this case. Now we know Carrillo was one and half times the legal limit and went off the road so violently his air bag deployed! His lyin' lawyer claims Carrillo was tired after a 13 hour day at work! When did Carrillo find the time and energy to get drunk while working that long day!!?? Was he downing Modelos while milking the cows? We also know, as a matter of law, Carrillo had to acknowledge his guilt in order to get the deferred charge and eventual dismissal. In other words, he was guilty and admitted it. Aren't you relieved your teen driver kid was not driving in the oncoming lane when this selfish little bozo careened off the road? One might think he would do anything to avoid contact with the law as an illegal immigrant. Nope. Says a lot for the ol' IQ doesn't it?

Re: “A Wife Vows to Fight Her Husband's Deportation

Wolfganger: Dream on Wolfganger! Obviously if this phantasmagorical legal scenario you created re the primacy of international law vs US sovreign law were true, President Obama would never have wholeheartedly endorsed the aggressive enforcement of US immigration law, which he did. Remember, one-world, no-border types like yourself angrily dubbed Obama "The Deporter In Chief." But you are welcome to dream on, my friend. We are still a sovreign nation, much as it frustrates you.

Re: “Walters: The Leahy-Gorsuch Two-Step

Terjeanderson: i know the Supreme Court was specifically exempted but i guess you missed the point. The GOP will quickly do a 52-48 simple majority victory-vote to include the SUPCO appointments and, voila, the Supreme Court is no longer exempted. Did you not understand? Do you think for one moment the GOP Senate majority will hesitate to invoke the nuclear option for Supco appointments?
