Crowded House
Ten musicians can’t fit very well on a small stage, but Hartford, Conn., soul outfit West End Blend do it all the time. What started as a bunch of college buds jamming at house parties has become a regional favorite in southern New England, and the party is just getting started. Combining elements of soul, disco and R&B, the group’s sound is funky fresh yet retains the style and sizzle of those genres’ golden days. Also, they do a bangin’ cover of Phish’s “Tweezer.” On Saturday, October 1, West End Blend squeeze onto the stage at Nectar’s in Burlington for their EP-release show, with support from Headband.
