National Public Radio reports that more than 100,000 people are expected to attend the Women’s March on Washington one day after the inauguration of the United States’ 45th president, Donald Trump. In solidarity with the demonstration on the nation’s capital, Vermonters take to the streets for the Women’s March on Montpelier. Beginning at Montpelier High School, folks from all walks of life make strides for reproductive rights, equal pay, family-fair policies, and other issues related to justice and equity for women. The procession leads to the Statehouse lawn, where a rally brings protesters together for speeches, art and music, and to learn about other opportunities to make their voices heard.
