Ronald P. Barron, 77, of Rock Hill, S.C., passed away peacefully on Friday, January 9, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ronald was born and raised in Winooski, Vt., on March 2, 1948, the eldest of six boys born to Reginald and Elda (Clavelle) Barron.

Throughout his life, Ron worked in many fields and proudly owned and operated several businesses. His warm personality and genuine kindness allowed him to build countless friendships over the years. A devoted fan of the New York Yankees, Ron’s passion for his team was clear to anyone who visited the “Yankees shrine” in his home. Even we Red Sox fans had to respect that!

Ron leaves behind many people who deeply loved him and whom he loved in return. He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Bradford Barron, with whom he recently celebrated 19 wonderful years of marriage on December 8. He is also survived by his daughter, Laurie Barron, and her sons, Jack and Gabe, of Colchester; his son Mike Barron, Rachelle Moss and their son, Max, also of Colchester; his son Matt Barron and his partner, Krista, of St. Albans, Vt.; and his dear friend and mother of his children, Judith Barron, of South Burlington, Vt.

He will also be lovingly remembered by his stepson, Tony Miller, his wife, Amanda, and their son, Alex, of Rock Hill, S.C.; and by his stepdaughter, Tina Smith, her partner, Ivy, and their son, Irving, of Baltimore, Md.

Ron is additionally survived by his brothers Tom Barron of South Burlington, Vt.; Kevin Barron and his wife, Lisa, of Milton, Vt.; and Brian Barron of Texas. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews and many close friends who will miss him dearly. He also leaves behind his loyal dog, Mickey, his constant buddy and best friend, who will miss him greatly.

He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Bernard and Michael, his in-laws Henry and Betty Bradford, and his beloved pets Sam, Frankie and Rudy, who were faithful companions through the years.

Interment will take place in the spring.
