In a few moments, we’ll be on the road in our rented Pontiac Grand Prix. There will be a stop at Hearst Castle, and a leisurely swing through Big Sur.
We won’t get to San Fran tonight; we’ll spend the night in a hotel of our choosing and make the rest of the journey tomorrow morning.
Has anyone seen the “New San Francisco” sketch on Mr. Show?

So, you will be arriving in SF Tuesday morning then?
Jesus, why don’t you guys just get a room already!!!
We just got in. Spent the night in Monterey…Art, I’ll call you after we forage for food. We’re at Hotel Rex. it’s swanky and deco.
hi casey, been enjoying your blog. bummer you’re in california; wouldn’t you rather be at backstage pub in essex tonight, watching Nowhere Found rock out with Aliza’s Mizery?Haha, yeah, probably not. California is nice, despite the number of dead horses that the Chili Peppers have beaten about it.Anyway, would greatly appreciate a link to our website in your list of Local Band Websites, if you deem us worthy. Good luck in the West.
yo Casey and Brooke! what did you guys think of Hearst Castle? the view from the outdoor pool is to DIE for, me thinks. i was yearning to dive into that water. that is one of my all time favorite places to go. once we went at night and there were townspeople dressed up in period costumes having a party, playing cards, wandering the halls, clacking on typewriters and making the whole place come to life. super cool gig. did you drive up highway 1 to SF? love that road too – ocean views out of this universe. have a great time in SF and be sure to visit the Roxy (indie movie theater in the Mission) and the Castro (1400 seater old movie palace in the Castro) and Peet’s Coffee and Tea (I used to work there!). have a great time!
