I wonder whether anyone told Ron Howard that Splash was being remade. Sounds like that’s what director Elizabeth Allen is up to with this fish-out-of-water tale of a mermaid who falls in love with a human. Emma Roberts, Sara Paxton and Jake McDorman star. (109 min, PG)
