Slideshow: Winter Is a Drag Ball 2026 — ‘Beauty and the Beach’

On Saturday, hundreds of partygoers ignored the snow and ice and showed up in their best beachwear — some with a fairy-tale twist — to “Beauty and the Beach,” the 31st edition of Winter Is a Drag Ball in support of Vermont CARES.

More than 60 entertainers, including DJs, drag performers, burlesque artists and go-go dancers, heated up both rooms of Higher Ground. Said organizer Mike Oxready, “Looking out into the crowd of beaming smiles and beachy vibes made it feel possible to survive the rest of this terrible winter.”

Photographer Anne Lattrell was there to capture the party, performances and parade of costumes for Seven Days.
