1/7/16: Donald Trump held a rally Thursday evening at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Burlington. About 2,000 people lined up outside to get into the 1,400 seat theater. Outside in City Hall Park, around 700 protesters held up signs and chanted, many of them voicing support for hometown hero and Presidential hopeful, Bernie Sanders.
Trump is seeking the Republican nomination for President and he spoke for about 70 minutes to a largely supportive crowd. He was interrupted about nine times by protesters who were escorted out of the theater. Trump's campaign stop in Vermont was so unusual that it attracted a large number of local and national media, including Seven Days and Stuck in Vermont.
