  1. Magnetic silverware is only found at restaurants and I think it has to do with a big magnetic ring they sometimes put at the top of the trash bin near the dishwasher station. This prevents silverware from being thrown out which actually happens a lot. Silverware gets saved from the trash by attaching to the big magnet. Getting attached to the magnet passes along some magnetic properties.
