Anne Wallace Allen covered business and the economy for Seven Days 2021-25. Born in Australia and raised in Massachusetts, Anne graduated from Bard College and Georgetown University and spent several years living and working in Europe and Australia before returning for a stint as a writer at the United Nations. She spent a decade at Vermont’s Associated Press bureau before leaving Vermont to live in Mexico for a year with her family. That turned into a long stint away in Idaho, where Anne worked as editor of the small weekly Idaho Business Review before she returned to Vermont, in 2018. Anne won a New England Newspaper & Press Association first-place award for government reporting in 2023 for her story "Democracy How? The Pandemic Has Weakened — but Not Killed — Vermont’s Grand Town Meeting Day Tradition."
