Janet Mae (Bourget) Kirby passed away on October 10, 2025, at Hospice House in Bushnell, Fla.
She was born, raised and lived most of her life in Burlington’s New North End, and was the daughter of Rose (Lefebvre) and Ernest Bourget. She married Donald E. Kirby in 1951, and together they raised seven children.
She was predeceased by her husband in 2022 and her son Rene in 2025. She is survived by her children: Donna (Stuart) Porter of The Villages, Fla.; Ric of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Daryl (Diana) of Grosse Pointe, Mich.; Cheryl of Burlington, Vt.; Jean (Ronald) Sweeney of Burlington, Vt.; and Jon (Julia) of Burlington, Vt. She leaves grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The family plans to have a small celebration of life and committal ceremony later in the spring.
