The owners of Mountain Valley Restaurant at 212 Main Street in Winooski have sold it and will open Mountain Valley Indian Cuisine at 10 Farrell Street in South Burlington in January. Dhanbahadur Chhetri and his wife, Rozee Pardha, had operated their original Indian/Nepali/Indo-Chinese restaurant in Winooski since 2022. The business will stay open there, without a name change, under new owner Kabi Adhikari, Chhetri said.

Chhetri, 46, said the couple decided to sell their Winooski eatery due to the ongoing challenges of running the business through road construction. In August 2024, he told Seven Days that roadwork disruptions had sliced his sales in half.

In South Burlington, Mountain Valley Indian Cuisine takes over the previous spot of Domino’s Pizza, which relocated earlier this year to the former Denny’s at 730 Shelburne Road. Chhetri said it will offer the same menu as the couple’s Winooski restaurant, which served tandoori chicken, meat and vegetarian curries, and Pardha’s hand-pleated momos. Unlike Domino’s, the small restaurant will offer on-site dining.
