U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders is famously combative toward the media. That’s mostly because we’re shallow and dominated by our corporate overlords.

But Bernie clearly met his media soul-mate over the weekend. Vermont’s june-yah senator (who turned 71 on Saturday) sat down with veteran broadcaster Bill Moyers on the latest iteration of his PBS show, “Bill Moyers & Company.” And I don’t think I’ve ever seen him so happy to be chatting with a journalist (see his ear-splitting grin at 2:47).

Paul Heintz was part of the Seven Days news team from 2012 to 2020. He served as political editor and wrote the "Fair Game" political column before becoming a staff writer.

  1. Bill Moyers — Now you should interview my partner, Kate Cooper. She feels it is too late to look for a solution through the government — the government has been sold and is no longer available to us. There is a peaceful solution possible, and you need to get it out to your listeners.
