The following are my New Year’s resolutions vis-a-vis music, Vermont and my place in both.

1. To take more time to record and produce my own stuff in addition to working on other folks’ projects.

2. To get bands to become more aware of other acts in their community.

3. To never pull punches.

4. To continue to raise my personal standards — critically, artistically and otherwise.

5. To listen without prejudice and react with honesty.

Here’s to ’06.

  1. Based upon reading your reviews, comments and emails, I never got the impression that you were pulling punches and failing to react with honesty. That’s like me making a resolution to start listening to indie rock this year.

  2. #3. should read:To hunt down and destroy all bands and artists that fail to live up to the stringent standards that I have put forth in the soon to be published Uber-Music Manifesto. ;).-c

  3. re: Resolution #5Does that apply strictly to George Michael, or will you be listening to all audio forms without prejudice?

  4. Gatti, I’ve offered to be your father figure, but you were always reluctant to put your tiny hand in mine.

  5. Nice. I should post some resolutions on my blog, but I don’t have any yet. As usual, I’m behind deadline. Unlike SOME people. Jeez.
