200 years ago the Long Pond ran away from Glover, never to be seen again.

2 billion gallons of water fled all the way to Lake Memphremagog, reshaping the Vermont landscape along the way.

Amazingly, no one was killed in this impressive natural disaster and the town gathered to celebrate this weekend. The event was organized by the Glover Historical Society and included a play by locals Bread & Puppet.
