Vermont artist Jess Graham has spent much of the month of August methodically covering a downtown Burlington wall with a colorful 206′ by 16′ mural. The Cherry Street project was commissioned by Outdoor Gear Exchange and it depicts open-air activities during all four seasons. After blocking out the design, community volunteers began showing up to help paint – about 40 people have participated so far. Organized by local art champion, Jill Badolato, ‘Our Mountains, Our Home’ should be completed by mid-September.

  1. What’s going on here ! Before beginning this mural a commission should have been set up to properly analyse intentions and offer their conclusions . But only after lengthy public hearings have been convened .Just be very very careful that you don’t somehow manage to offend anyone by inclusion or omission . This should take no less than eight, ten years tops . We don’t , God forbid , want another Leahy Way mural fiasco !

  2. Yea for Eva Sollberger!! Seeing the video of the mural was fun. I M SO HAPPY YOU ARE CONTINUING TO DO VIDEOS. We first met when I did a book with my 1957 Burlington High School Class (called The Book of Years) and Eva came to our 50th reunion in 2007 and did a couple of minutes video of me telling what our project had been like resulting in a 375-page book. Go Eva!!!

  3. Thanks so much Tom, great to hear from you and I remember your 50th BHS anniversary fondly. And congrats on your book too. Take care!
