The second annual Cavalry Day was held at the University of Vermont Morgan Horse Farm in Weybridge on a sunny Saturday. Visitors were treated to living history lessons and drills on horseback with members of the 1st Vermont Cavalry Co. K. During the Civil War, the 1st Vermont Cavalry utilized more than 1,000 Morgan horses in battles across the country. The UVM Morgan Horse Farm is a working farm with more than 40 Morgans, Vermont’s State Animal.
