This weekend’s events are sure to please drama buffs, movie lovers, environmentalists and musicians alike.

Do you hear the people sing? Lyric Theatre’s production of Les Misérables opens on Friday at the Flynn. There are four opportunities this weekend to take in the epic musical.

 he classic movie The Wizard of Oz at the Hopkins Center for the Arts in Hanover, N.H. on Saturday afternoon.

Pooper scoopers band together to clear dog waste and litter from Niquette Bay, Sandbar and Grand Isle State Parks during April Stools Day on Saturday morning. Clean-up supplies will be provided at each location.

Curious musicians get a chance to deconstruct a piano to see its inner workings at a take-apart session in Williston on Saturday morning.

An egg hunt at Oakledge Park in Burlington on Saturday gives kids the chance to hobnob with the Easter Bunny and collect small treasures.

Feline fanciers grab some popcorn and settle in for Planet Cat, a festival of locally made cat videos, at Majestic 10 in Williston. Proceeds benefits the Humane Society of Chittenden County.
