Judy Marie Cruz died Friday, July 25, 2025, at her home in Burlington after a short illness.
She was born in Burlington on September 28, 1954, the daughter of the late Henry C. Francis and Pauline (Gilmond) Francis.
Judy was married October 1, 1974, to Lawrence Cruz.
She graduated from Burlington High School in 1972, where she met the love of her life and husband, Larry.
Judy was an avid reader, spending endless hours either finishing or starting another novel. She particularly enjoyed her yearly trips to the Bonnet Creek Resort in Orlando, Fla., where she experienced many wonderful and unforgettable trips with her family. She will be forever remembered as a devout wife and mother, a great listener and possessing a generous heart.
Judy leaves behind her loving husband for 50 years, Larry of Burlington; two sons, Cory Cruz of Burlington and Casey Cruz along with his wife, Heather, of St. George; two grandchildren, Jordan Pellerin and Brendan Cruz; two great-grandchildren, Killian Pellerin and Ollie Cruz; and cousin Paula Paquette of Milton.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be announced at a later date.
Donations in Judy’s honor should go to St. Jude Hospital for children’s cancer research.
