Ruthann Dodge Pierson, 67, of Midlothian, Va., passed away on June 10, 2026, at the Orlando Regional Medical Center. Born on July 3, 1958, in Burlington, Vt., she was the beloved mother of Donnell, Jannell and Devyn (Arielle); grandmother of Iiyannah, Donavin, Shane, Jasiyah, Monroe, Jordan and Kaiden; and loving sister of Clark, Grace and JT.
Ruthann is remembered for her relentlessness in providing for her children. She possessed an education and skill set that was always sought after. She was also known for her generous heart and giving personality. Ruthann often made gifts by hand, taking the time to put love and intention into every gift.
She enjoyed spending her Sundays finishing the New York Times crossword puzzle (in pen) and/or watching NFL games and cheering on her favorite players and teams. Before her passing, Ruthann was able to care for a beautiful horse named Ghost while he competed in multiple competitions, winning several. Her smile was largest when she continued her childhood passion as a stable hand; although she couldn’t ride anymore, the presence and caretaking were all she needed. Ruthann touched the lives of many through her various jobs, donations and community service events.
Ruthann is preceded in death by her daughter Jakeessa and her parents, Douglas and Patricia Pierson.
The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date in Vermont.
Ruthann will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
