William “Bill” Thomas Sharp Sr. passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026, just days before his 86th birthday. He was surrounded by his loving family at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester, Vt.

Bill was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a cherished friend to many. He lived a happy life defined by kindness, generosity and an unwavering love for his family. His warmth, gentle nature and quiet friendliness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Isabel, of South Burlington Vt.; children, William Sharp Jr. (Elisabete) of Murrieta, Calif., Christine Cartland (Philip) of Shrewsbury, UK, and Stephen Sharp (Karen Sharpwolf) of Moretown, Vt.; siblings Robert Sharp and Elizabeth “Betty Ann” (Sharp) Goldfarb; beloved grandchildren, Caroline Sharp, Carina and Alistair Cartland, and Sophia Sharp; nephews and nieces; and many dear friends around the world. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A Mass and celebration of William’s life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, 11 a.m., at Holy Cross Church in Colchester, Vt. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory can be made to the Vermont Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association or the McClure Miller Respite House.
