Robert “Bobby” Graeme

Robert, AKA “Bobby” Graeme, died peacefully in his home on October 8, 2015 at the age of 73. He was a dad, a brother, and a friend to many. But he was also a highly intelligent, loyal, and honest man with a heart of gold. He had fond memories of his time in the Air Force, being stationed in Alaska, and he was one of the few people who actually loved his job as an electrical engineer. He looked forward to summer so he could go out on his boat and fish Lake Champlain, and he enjoyed watching movies and concerts on his big screen TV. But his true passion was music. As a keyboardist, guitarist, and singer for many local area bands, most notably, Excalibur, he was happiest when he was performing on stage.

Bobby Graeme will always be lovingly remembered for his talent, his sarcasm, his great conversations, his blunt (and usually profane) honesty, his warm and open heart, and of course, wine. He is survived by his sister, Mary Metakos, of Montpelier, VT, his daughters, April Kern, of Clermont, FL, and Missy Fernald, of Shirley, MA, his niece, Christina Bigras of East Calais, VT, four grandchildren, and hundreds of people who’s lives he touched in his 73 years. There will be a gathering to celebrate his life beginning at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the Ready Funeral Home, 68 Pinecrest Drive in Essex Jct. Vt., followed by a short service at 7:00 pm. To send online condolences, please visit www.readyfuneral.com.
