Nothing clears the building like a Ben & Jerry’s truck on Free Cone Day. When word spread, employees from Seven Days, WIZN, CVOEO and others in the Independent Block rushed outside like lemmings to the cliff.

Happily, no harm was done. What’s an extra 180 calories and 5 grams of fat?

The truck was handing out 3.5-ounce containers of frozen yogurt — Greek frozen yogurt, for “creamy richness” — in Banana Peanut Butter and Raspberry Fudge Chunk. Not exactly cones, but we’re not complaining!

Thanks, Ben & Jerry’s, for your annual largesse. And for bringing it to our door, which is awesome for people on deadline.

All the rest of you can stand in line at a scoop shop for your freebie, until 8 p.m. Don’t forget to say thanks!
