US Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) is gearing up for Monday’s start of Judge Sonia Sotomayor’s confirmation hearings. And, thanks to digital tech, many local viewers can now watch the whole thing on VPT.
Sotomayor, a federal appeals court judge on the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals in New York, was nominated by Pres. Barack Obama to fill a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court being vacated by Justice David Souter.
Leahy, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Commitee, will square off with the panel’s ranking GOP member, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) on CBS’s “Face the Nation” with Bob Schieffer.
