Vice President Joe Biden is coming to Vermont next week.
Biden is expected to attend an event at the University of Vermont Medical Center. Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) invited Biden to an October 21 gathering related to the Cancer Moonshot project, which President Barack Obama put Biden in charge of earlier this year, Leahy spokesman David Carle said.
Biden is also expected to campaign for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton while in Vermont. Clinton campaign officials have yet to confirm the details.
Leahy’s Republican opponent in the Senate race, Scott Milne, immediately used the Biden visit as an opportunity to criticize Leahy. “Sen. Leahy and Vice President Biden have spent the past 42 years together in Washington, and they both supported Hillary Clinton against Bernie, so it is not surprising that they would be campaigning together,” he said, referring to Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-Vt.) presidential bid.
Six years ago, Biden came to Vermont to campaign for then-Democratic gubernatorial candidate Peter Shumlin. The event drew a large crowd at UVM’s Patrick Gymnasium. Shumlin went on to win his first term.

What a bizarre attack for a Republican like Scott Milne to try to launch on Leahy and Biden.
Is Milne now trying to claim that he supported Bernie Sanders for President? I must have missed him working on the campaign, and can’t seem to find his “Republican for Sanders” endorsement anywhere on the internet.
Is he claiming that he is a better ideological match for Sanders (and Vermont) than Biden or Leahy? Good grief — Scott Milne is the “courageous” guy who up until 2 days ago was still considering voting for Donald Trump….

Scott Milne is a REPUBLICAN who wants to see Mitch McConnell, Ted Cruz, Jim Inhofe, Jeff Sessions, Marco Rubio, Mike Lee, and their ilk with a Senate majority (denying Bernie an influential committee chair in the process).
Scott Milne wants to put the future of the Supreme Court, climate change, civil rights, health care, economic equality, college affordability, Planned Parenthood funding, immigration, health access, (and everything else) under the control of those right wing Republicans.
Politicians can sometimes be ridiculous in their efforts to score points, but when Scott Milne tries to usurp the Sanders mantle for his political purposes he looks like a complete clown. What a joke.
