Reportable and Communicable Diseases Rule.

Vermont Proposed Rule: 25P043

AGENCY: Agency of Human Services, Department of Health

CONCISE SUMMARY: The purpose of these regulations is to protect public health through the control of communicable and dangerous diseases. These regulations require the early and prompt reporting of listed diseases so that the Department of Health may take any necessary protective action. This rulemaking does the following:1) Modifies and reorganizes the lists of required reportable findings in humans and animals; 2) Changes the required reporting period for Brucellosis from “immediately” to “within 24 hours” and Rubella virus from “within 24 hours” to “immediately” 3) Adds information about how to report positive tuberculin skin test (TST) results; 4) Clarifies the reporting of blood lead results.
