Burlington High School senior Medine Nifasha, has been dancing all her life. What started as a fun activity with friends, became a popular YouTube channel and eventually, a student-led, hip-hop Dance Team with lots of fans. Medine is the captain and choreographer for the group which she co-founded in 2016 with Zanevia Wilcox as an after school program. The young women practice every evening after classes. We caught up with them at a Monday night rehearsal and then followed them to a performance at a basketball game the following week. Although Medine graduates this year, the team will continue with her younger sister Diana and Bety Mayani as co-captains.
