Budding authors in kindergarten through third grade get a chance to flex their literary muscles in the PBS Kids Go! Writers Contest. Original works — fact or fiction, poetry or prose — must be accompanied by at least five illustrations and can’t exceed 200 words for kindergarteners and first graders and 350 words for second and third graders. Entries are due March 21.

Vermont Public Television grand-prize winners in each grade will be entered into a national competition, where they’ll be eligible to win tablet computers and e-readers. Those who need a little inspiration need only heed the wise words of Dr. Seuss: “Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!”
