Gov. Peter Shumlin made his Sunday morning talk show debut this weekend with an appearance on ABC’s “This Week.”
The topic? You guessed it: Vermont’s “full-blown heroin crisis.”
Shumlin appeared with guest host Martha Raddatz, ABC News correspondent Dr. Richard Besser and journalist Seth Mnookin, who wrote last week in Slate about his own struggle with heroin addiction. The segment segued from actor Philip Seymour Hoffman’s death by heroin overdose last week to Shumlin’s State of the State address, in which he focused on Vermont’s “growing epidemic” of opiate abuse.

I am just asking a question here…..
Is Shumlin pulling out all the stops using tax payers money to help people (not saying they do not need it) who inflict harm on themselves, but at the same time has used tax payer money to inflict harm (industrial wind) on an innocent public and they get no help?
Do we have to start using heroin to get Government Officials to do anything to help us out of a situation they put us in?
I am afraid the majority in Montpelier will show no interest in aiding wind victims until Federal subsidy money becomes available to combat the epidemic.
