Patrick Joel DeMasi passed peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2026, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born on March 17, 1961. He was the ninth of 11 children born to James Walter and Elizabeth Jeanette (Jette) DeMasi.
Patrick’s greatest treasure was his family: his beloved wife of 45 years, Tina; sons Adam and Erik; daughter, Jennifer; granddaughter, Charlie Ann; and nieces, Marilyn, Betsy, Emily and Ellie Mae; as well as his sisters, brothers and their families. In addition to spending time with his family, Patrick cherished time on his farm raising Hereford cows, sugaring, rebuilding classic cars and tending his land.
A lifelong resident of Northfield, Patrick served his community for over 30 years as a municipal employee and firefighter. He took immense pride in his work, rising from mechanic to utilities superintendent.
Patrick’s humor, warmth, dedication to his family and unique idioms will always be remembered. He is predeceased by his parents, James and Elizabeth; his son Erik; his brother Peter; and his sister Sue.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, 2 p.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Northfield, with graveside services immediately after the service, followed by a gathering at the family home on Hallstrom Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bayada Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association in his memory. There will be no calling hours.
