Bow Thayer’s Aim Is True: Central Vermont singer-songwriter Bow Thayer threw a release party for his new album, Ninevah, last Friday at Burlington’s SEABA Center. With a six-musician backing band, the banjo wizard known for playing with ’90s blues and roots-rock band Elbow and bluegrass act the Benders performed brand-new songs. His sweeping concept record is, according to a press release, all about “a planet in transition and a species trying to understand its place on it.”

Music editor Chris Farnsworth has written countless albums reviews and features on Vermont's best musicians, and has seen more shows than is medically advisable. He's played in multiple bands over decades in the local scene and is a recording artist in his own right.
