Scrag Mountain Music has been bringing chamber music to their community since 2010. They play in churches, barns and sometimes, grocery stores. They encourage music lovers to “come as you are” and “pay what you can.” We caught up with them during a pop up concert of early music at Healthy Living Market in South Burlington which was followed by a full evening performance at Bread & Butter Farm in Shelburne.

  1. These guys are pretty incredible, but actually, chamber music *has* been in Vermont for 50+ years already (I believe 7days actually wrote a story about this.) Mary Anthony Cox Rowell, the founder of the Craftsbury Chamber Players, the head of the eartraining department at Julliard, passed away a week ago. She left behind a crazy legacy and will be sorely missed. Might be worth writing a story on.
