A_Dog Day [SIV502]

Published August 31, 2017 at 6:00 a.m.

8/26/17: A_Dog Day is a celebration of skateboarding, art and music inspired by the life of a man who was a fixture in Burlington, Andy "A_Dog" Williams. When Andy was diagnosed with leukemia in 2012, his friends organized to help support him, and Friends for A_Dog was born. Andy passed a year later and the group formed a nonprofit organization that provides arts education to underserved youth and also campaigns for bone marrow donors.

This year the 4th annual A_Dog Day brought pro and novice skaters alike to the Andy "A_Dog" Williams Skatepark at the Waterfront. Friends and community members kept his legacy alive with live painting, creative workshops and an evening of music and performance.

Music: Friends for A_Dog, Vol.2, "A_Dog" Bless the Child, "Tribute" Self Portrait, "Applause" Epick, "Overtime" VT Union, "100" MC B-Free, "Compassion" Mister Burns

Rough Francis, Soul Power, "Ruffians"
