Higher Ground Presents announced on Friday that actor and comedian Aziz Ansari will perform on Thursday, September 27, at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in Burlington. The former star of television series "Parks & Recreation" and "Master of None" is attempting a comeback after being accused of sexual misconduct in January.

For his Burlington performance, which is part of his "Working Out New Material" tour, attendees will have to surrender their electronic devices prior to entry. According to a press release, cellphones, smart watches and recording devices will be placed in secure, locked pouches courtesy of San Francisco-based tech company Yondr before entering the theater. Patrons will maintain possession of their devices and be able to access them at "designated Yondr unlocking stations" throughout the venue.

According to the company's website, Yondr aims to create "phone-free spaces for artists, educators, organizations and individuals."

As CNN reported, Ansari has recently been performing in various cities all over the country. However, the tour section of the comedian's website is currently blank.

Ansari's comeback attempt follows the re-emergence of comedian Louis C.K., who was accused of sexual misconduct in 2017. C.K. recently performed for the first time in over a year. C.K. drew harsh criticism from journalists and standup comedians alike after his surprise set at the Comedy Cellar in New York City for not addressing his alleged actions, which the comedian has admitted were true.
