Lit Up
Formerly of Portland, Ore., nomadic art-folksters Strangled Darlings make rich, bold music with little more than mandolin, upright bass and their own voices. Now semi-permanently based in South Londonderry — though the road remains their true home — the duo aims for more than entertainment with their music. Jessica Anderly and George Veech address topical issues from global politics to consumerism. And literary references abound — their band name derives from a William Faulkner quote. Ever on tour, Strangled Darlings play Saturday, September 17, at Light Club Lamp Shop in Burlington.
