Janet Dorothy Carpenter,75, passed away on Wednesday morning, January 13, 2016 at St. Albans Healthcare and Rehab Center with her family by her side.

Janet was born on August 31, 1940 in Fairfax, the daughter of Howard F. and Rita (LaRochelle)

Irish.

Janet was a hard worker and had been employed at several area restaurants as a cook. She loved cats and especially enjoyed cooking, knitting and reading.

Surviving are her children and their families; Lorelei and David Tougas and their children Adam and Nathan; Rich and Denise Carpenter and children Meghan, Jordan and Lucas; Melanie and Mark Boudreau and children Ian, Mitchell and Kaitlyn; William Carpenter and his partner Valerie and children Alayna and Myah; Courtney and Patrick Raymond and children Kyle and Amelia; 4 great grandchildren; her husband Richard A. Carpenter; 9 surviving siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews. Janet was predeceased by 1 sibling.

In accordance with Janet’s wishes, there will be no services.

Should friends desire, contribution in Janet’s memory may be made to Franklin County Animal Rescue, 30 Sunset Meadows, St. Albans, VT 05478.
