Queen City Ghostwalk — Mad men, wicked women, murderous smugglers and tragic heroes. No, we’re not talking about Washington, D.C., politics, but rather Queen City Ghostwalk, Vermont’s original haunted history tour. Supernatural storyteller and Burlington native Thea Lewis leads this series of spooky strolls through downtown Burlington, the waterfront and Lakeview Cemetery. The author of such books as Wicked Vermont, Haunted Inns and Ghostly Getaways of Vermont, and Ghosts and Legends of Lake Champlain, the perennially black-clad Lewis shares spine-tingling tales of phantom ships, the spirits of dead soldiers and America’s first serial killer. Lewis clearly walks the walk: She named her 90-pound mutt Phantom and says he has “Cleopatra’s eyes and Hitler’s mustache.” Eerie, indeed.
