Community Sailing Center — It’s a time-tested local maxim that you’ve gotta have a friend with a boat to get the most out of living in Burlington. For many over the past 20 years, the Community Sailing Center has been that friend — good thing it’s got a lot of boats. From standup paddleboards and kayaks to zippy Laser dinghies and 23-foot Sonar keelboats, the center’s fleet has something to suit sailors of every skill level, and at prices that won’t sink your bank account. Expansive new headquarters, which opened in 2018, will allow the center to keep forging friendships and continue its mission of making the lake accessible to everyone, no matter their age, ability or financial situation.
