Brooklyn’s Slut Magic pack a lot of charm into their gothic, post-punk songs. Literary, historical, political, scientific and cultural references abound in the quartet’s witches’ brew. They pay tribute to H.P. Lovecraft throughout their work, not only in a song titled with his surname, but also with the tension and dread for which the horror author was known. But it’s not all doom and gloom. “Feel the Bern” is a surprisingly heartfelt and whimsical recap of the life and times of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). Slut Magic support locals Tin Talisman on Saturday, March 10, at Charlie-O’s World Famous in Montpelier.
