Keith L. Cassidy, 54, a native of Highgate and a resident of the Vergennes and Middlebury area for more than 20 years, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning at Porter Hospital in Middlebury.
Keith was born in Burlington, December 14, 1959, the son of the late Donald and Dorothy (Gratton) Cassidy. He attended Highgate schools, was a 1977 graduate of Missisquoi Valley Union High School and a member of the Highgate United Methodist Church. Until illness forced his retirement, Keith had been a driver for Farrell Distributing Company for many years.
Keith is survived by his children; Jason and Dorothy Cassidy of Middlebury, one brother, Dennis Cassidy and his companion Sandra Fontaine of Highgate, two sisters; Theresa Dion and her husband, William of Essex and Lori Cassidy of Sheldon, his devoted caregivers; Alice and Chuck Barnum and family of New Haven and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 11 AM from the Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton. The Rev. John Lucy, pastor of Memorial United Methodist Church in Swanton will officiate. Interment will follow in Highgate Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kidder Memorial Home on Friday, prior to the funeral from 10 to 11 AM.
