100th Episode of "Stuck in Vermont"

Published October 15, 2008 at 2:17 p.m. | Updated December 6, 2018 at 3:39 a.m.

Back in January of 2007, Eva Sollberger and I met at Speeder & Earl's on Pine Street to talk about her idea for a video blog. She explained her vision for a series of web videos that would showcase local artists, musicians and obsessive types. I suggested that she produce a few episodes, to see if Seven Days might be interested in picking them up — and paying her for them.

After seeing the first three episodes, we decided to bring her on board here. That summer, after months of working for freelance wages, she joined the Seven Days staff as our first full-time videographer.

Eva has produced hundreds of videos for us over the past 19 months — she does a weekly episode of "Stuck in Vermont," but she also produces video features, "7DTV" segments and the occasional promo video. Hundreds of thousands of people have watched these videos, both on our website and on YouTube.

This week, Eva took a break from covering everybody else, and turned the camera on herself for the 100th episode of "Stuck in Vermont." Check it out — the Smittens even sang an extended version of the "Stuck" theme song.

I can't believe there have been 100 episodes! That's, like, 8 hours of video. And I can't believe how hard this woman works. She's pretty much a one-woman show. She spends hours talking with sources, setting up shoots and filming interviews. Then she has to edit it all down to a 4-6 minute little film — not an easy task — and upload it to our various video channels. That's a lot of work.

So, thanks, Eva, for bringing your videos to Seven Days. We're so happy you're "stuck" here with us.
