Bernice C. Campbell, age 83 years, a lifelong area resident died early Saturday morning, October 17, 2015, at her Pearl St. residence with loving family at her side.
Born in Swanton on July 18, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Amos Samuel and Ardelle (Hoague) Jerry. She attended Swanton schools and on March 10, 1956, was married to John Murray Campbell who predeceased her in 1973.
Bernice will be especially remembered for the many years that she assisted her daughter at Bettys Flower Basket in St. Albans, delivering flowers throughout the Franklin and Grand Isle County area. She later also assisted at her daughter Bettys restaurant located in the St. Albans City Main Street Plaza.
Bernice leaves two daughters, Betty Campbell Lambesis and husband Greg of St. Albans and Debra Taylor and husband Frank of Swanton; three granddaughters, Demetra, Yoanna and Alex; two grandsons, Zachary and Nathan; a great grandson, Taso; her sister, Catherine Ely of Naugatuck, CT; a sister-in-law, Patricia Jerry Breyette of Alburgh as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves her very special canine companion, Willie.
Besides her parents and husband, Bernice was predeceased by three brothers, Albert Jerry Sr., Amos Jerry Jr. and Kenneth Jerry and a sister, Dorcas Phillips.
At Bernices request there will be no calling hours.
A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at 11 a.m. from the Campbell family lot in Riverside Cemetery, Swanton. The Reverend Father J. Robert Spainhour, Rector of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church will officiate.
