Karen Marie Coughlin, age 55 years, died unexpectedly Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at the University of Vermont Medical Center surrounded by her loved ones.
Karen has been a resident of this community for the past seven years coming from Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time of her death she was working as a Human Resource Manager for Hannaford Supermarkets both in Swanton and Enosburgh Falls.
Born in Taunton, Mass on, October 11, 1959, she was the daughter of Russell Jr., and Marion (Gadbois) Bishop. She graduated from Taunton High School and on, September 12, 1987, was married to Edward Coughlin who survives her.
Karen enjoyed traveling, gardening, hiking, camping and was a great cook. She loved spending time with family especially her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Edward of Swanton, Karen leaves her father Russell Bishop Jr., and his wife Barbara of Falmouth, Mass; three sisters and their spouses, Kathy and Bob Abreu of Norton, Mass, Joanne and Dan Smead of East Wareham, Mass and Jennifer and Peter Taul of Warwick, RI; three brothers-in-law and their wives, Jim and Cindy Coughlin of Abington, Mass, John and Kathy Coughlin of Whitman, Mass and Kevin Coughlin of Quincy, Mass as well as several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Max.
Karen was predeceased by her mother Marion in 1979.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday evening, December 9, 2014, at 7p.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton. The Reverend Mr. Duane Langlois will officiate.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
