Searching for a woodsy spot to go exploring? Want to view the lake from a perspective you've never seen? Vermont's Instagram community is a great resource for uncovering all the secrets your new home turf has to offer.

To get you started, here are some of our favorite local Insta accounts. Now go and fill your feed with shots of rural wilderness and the urban-ish wilds of Burlington! (And, of course, follow Seven Days at @sevendaysvt.)

@frankdeangelisart

Name: Frank DeAngelis
Town: Burlington
Fave filter: Lo-Fi and Hefe
Fave Burlington-area spot: City Market, & Onion River Co-op's downtown location

Scroll through DeAngelis' feed to see urban streetscapes and abstract scenes with pops of bright colors and dramatic shadows. Look closer, and you might recognize a side alleyway or the roof of a building you walk by every day but have never really looked at. "I love back alleys, especially behind bars and restaurants," says DeAngelis. "Fire escapes are crazy interesting."

Name: Erin McCormick
Town: Colchester
Fave filter: Amaro
Fave Burlington-area spots: Four Quarters Brewing, Autumn Records and Full Circle in Winooski

What does McCormick like most about Instagram? "The positivity! Instagram is such a happy place to be," she says. Next time you're looking to explore Vermont, check out her feed for some road trip inspiration — gorgeous scenery shots, photos of small towns you might want to explore and plenty of craft beer.

Name: Olive the pig (and owner Sophie Rabe)
Town: Williston
Fave filter: #nofilter
Fave Burlington-area spots: Sophie: Oakledge Park; Olive: anywhere there's grass

Olive could be Vermont's most Instagram-famous resident. Follow this account to keep up with all the hijinks of the 4-year-old mini pig and her friend Milo the cat. And you never know — you might run into her out and about one day, though she's so adorable it can be hard for her owners to take her places. "We walked Church Street with her one time, and it took us four hours," says Rabe with a laugh.

Name: Laura Hale
Town: Burlington
Fave filter: #nofilter
Fave Burlington-area spot: Ethan Allen Homestead trails

"I've been a photographer since I was a little kid," Hale explains — and Instagram lets her share her striking macro nature shots. Looking for a new running trail, hiking spot or place to meditate? Keep an eye on Hale's photos — she serves on the Burlington Parks Commission, so she's got the goods on all the best spots around town.

Fave Burlington-area spots: Monarch & the Milkweed in Burlington and Misery Loves Co. in Winooski

"I love how connected it feels and how supportive everyone is," says Nershi of the Vermont Instagram community. If you're looking to add drool-worthy food photos to your feed, look no further — Nershi does photography and food styling professionally, and her photos will make you hungry. What photos do best? "Kittens and cakes!"

Name: Caleb Rapoza
Town: Winooski
Fave filter: #nofilter, but Lightroom and Snapseed apps
Fave Burlington-area spot: The beach just south of Lakeside Avenue

A clear glass orb appears in many of the colorful nature shots in Rapoza's feed. Says the photographer of the inverted reflection it creates, "That's the way we actually see things" — our brains translate the images right-side up.

Name: Max Fisher Young
Town: Georgia
Fave filter: Lux, but just a little
Fave Burlington-area spot: Red Rocks Park

Who doesn't love a good aerial shot? Young says he's got one goal with this account: "to show familiar things in unfamiliar ways." You might recognize many of the spots pictured, but these drone's-eye-view photos will give you a new perspective on them.
