Obituary: Arthur J. Dusablon Sr.

Arthur J. Dusablon Sr. of The Villages, FL, formerly of Burlington, VT passed away peacefully on February 25, 2016 after a long illness.

Art was born October 25, 1945 in Burlington, Vermont. He retired to The Villages, FL after 33 years working at Vermont Gas Systems where he earned several awards, including an American Association Meritorious Service Award. He served in the Navy Reserve.

Art is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda. He is also survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law, Art Jr. and Barbara of Burlington, Brian and Kristine of Colchester and Shawn and Alexandra of Essex Junction. "Papa" will especially be missed by his eight grandchildren, AJ, Libby, Zack, Zoe, Courtney, Mya, Thurman, and Storm. Art leaves a sister, Theresa Barcomb of Stewart, Florida. His sister in law, Darlene Hubacher and partner Dave Bissonette , his brother in laws, Edward Bushey and wife Rita and Robert Bushey and wife Judy. He leaves his beautiful nieces, Karen, Amy, Jessica and Miranda. He was predeceased by his niece, Laurie (Hubacher) Insel, his parents, Wilfred Dusablon and Beatrice Heath and several brothers and sisters.

Art loved baseball and the New York Yankees. He coached in the New North End Little League, Babe Ruth and BIG games. He attended and cheered for his sons and grandchildren on the many sports they played. He enthusiastically watched the WWE and attended live events with his family. He loved watching Westerns and his grandchildren could always count on a "Tootsie Roll" in his front shirt pocket.

Calling hours will be held at Ready Funeral Home, 261 Shelburne Road on Friday, March 18, from 4-7 PM. A celebration of life will be held at St. Mark’s Church, 1251 North Avenue, Burlington on Saturday, March 19 at 9:00 am followed by a burial at Resurrection Park, 200 Hinesburg Road, So. Burlington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, PO Box 1818, Memphis, TN 38101.
