Obituary: Mary Elizabeth “Nana” Buchanan

Mary Elizabeth “Nana” Buchanan, passed away November 17, 2015, peacefully at home with her loving family and caregivers at her side.

Mary had a daycare for over 20 years, loved caring for children. She also enjoyed traveling, bowling, dancing, gardening, gambling, camping and spending time with family and friends.

Mary is survived by her husband of 57 years, Veteran Fred Eldon Buchanan of California. Mary is survived by her four children, Kevin & Lisa, Lori & Henry Dykema, Steven, Deborah & John Talcott. Also her grandchildren,

Heidi, Kristin, Adam, Lindy, Sarah, Katie, Jake, Jon, Joe, James and Nicole, nine great grandchildren, seven brothers and sisters and several nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by sisters Doris Armell and Helen Ouellette.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 from 4 to 6 pm at Mtn View Chapel, 68 Pinecrest Drive, Essex Jct, VT 05452. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 21 at 11:00 am in St Marks Catholic Church, North Avenue, Burlington, VT 05408, with interment to follow at Fort Ethan Allen Cemetery, Colchester, Vt 05446.

A special thanks to our wonderful team of caregivers from Griswold Home Care and the supportive staff at Bayada Hospice. In-lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Mary’s memory to Bayada Hospice, 80 Pearl St, Essex, Vt 05452
