Obituary: Rodney J. Richard

Mr. Rodney J. Richard, age 82, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016, in the Hanover Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Rodney was born in St. Albans, December 9, 1933, son of the late Floyd and Bertha (Guyette) Richard. Rodney was a graduate of BFA, where he played on the State Championship Football Team. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean war. Rodney worked as a Carman for the Central Vermont Railway. In his younger years, Rodney loved hunting and fishing with his father and cousins.

Rodney is survived by his son Matthew of Virginia, his brother Neil Richard and his wife Helene of Enosburgh Falls, his three nieces Sara Richard, Stacey Clark and her husband Randy, Carrie Bushey and her husband Steve, his nephew John Richard, and several cousins and friends in our community. He was predeceased by his parents. The family wishes to thank the Staff of Northwest Counseling and Support Services for their care and friendship which allowed Rodney to live in St. Albans, the community he called home.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 22, 2016, at 11:00 AM in the Brady & Levesque Funeral Chapel, 86 South Main St., St. Albans. Interment will follow in the Richard family lot in Mount Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive condolences from 10:00AM until the time of the service. As an alternative to flowers, memorials may be made to the Community and Rehabilitation Treatment Program, C/O NCSS, 107 Fisher Pond Road, St. Albans, VT 05478. Online condolences may be sent to his family at the funeral home website: www.bradyandlevesque.com. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home and Commemorative Services.
